Stop at the UNESCO-listed Aït Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most impressive fortified villages. Explore its traditional earthen architecture and narrow passages before continuing towards Ouarzazate, the gateway to southern Morocco.

From Ouarzazate, follow the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs through palm-filled valleys, traditional villages and the Valley of Roses before arriving in Boumalne Dades for the night.

After breakfast, begin the day by exploring the spectacular landscapes of the Dades Gorges, known for their dramatic rock formations, winding roads and beautiful mountain scenery.

Continue towards Tinghir and the Todra Gorges, where towering limestone cliffs rise above the narrow valley. Take some time to walk through the gorge and enjoy the impressive surroundings before continuing south-east.

As the journey continues, the landscape becomes increasingly arid and the first signs of the Sahara begin to appear. By late afternoon, reach Merzouga, at the edge of the magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes.

Tonight, settle into your hotel near the desert and enjoy a relaxed evening before your Sahara experience begins the following day.

Begin with a visit to a nomadic family, offering an insight into their traditional way of life in the desert. Continue to Khamlia, a village known for its Gnawa heritage, where you will experience traditional music and enjoy lunch before returning towards the dunes.

In the afternoon, it's time to leave the vehicle behind and experience the Sahara from a different perspective. Ride your camel into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, stopping to watch the sun set over the desert.

Continue to your desert camp, where dinner and a peaceful night beneath the Sahara stars await.

Travel through small desert towns and wide, arid landscapes towards Alnif and Tazzarine, experiencing a quieter and less-travelled side of the country along the way.

Continue towards the beautiful Drâa Valley, where the dry desert scenery gradually gives way to palm groves, traditional villages and ancient kasbahs. Arrive in Agdz, a peaceful oasis town surrounded by mountains and lush date palms.

Settle into your accommodation and enjoy a relaxed evening in the heart of the Drâa Valley.
